About Kara

Ingold is my maiden name (now my middle name). I come from a family of chefs, DIY-ers and athletes who have inspired me my whole life to always create something beautiful and be unique.

I’m originally from Green Bay (go Pack), though a large piece of my heart is in Chicago – a place I called home for over 12 years. While there, my husband and I extensively renovated two of our townhomes and learned quite a bit along the way. I've painted more rooms than I can count and even dabbled in drywall and tiling, which I know now is best left up to professionals. These renovations happened all while dedicating my professional career to a non-profit agency benefitting adults with disabilities and then becoming a mom to my two daughters.

I have spent the past several years envisioning, designing and sourcing unique pieces for my dream home. Although I’ll never stop doing projects for my own home, I’ve now spread my passion to others. I source pieces from antique shops and flea markets, designers and makers near and far, hidden gems as well as retail stores and trade-only manufacturers. Some pieces I make or rework myself or enlist a family/friend/custom service to craft up a vision I have. Your home should be a true representation of your family and your past as well as your future; I hope to make that happen for my clients.
